It’s helpful to be able to express frustration in an understandable way, so today we’re going to learn how to say “I can’t take it anymore” or “I can’t deal.”

1.    Não dar mais...

I can’t take it anymore, dude. I have to quit the course.

(BR) Não dá mais, cara. Tenho que sair do curso.

(PT) Não dá mais, pá. Tenho que sair do curso.

I can’t take my job anymore. I can’t stand my boss.

Não dá mais para continuar no trabalho. Detesto meu chefe.

2.    Não aguentar mais…

I can’t stand it anymore in here. It’s so crowded.

Não aguento mais ficar aqui. Está muito cheio.

She couldn’t take it anymore and she left the party.

Ela não aguentou mais e foi embora da festa.

3.    Não suportar mais...

I can’t stand to listen to this music anymore.

Não suporto mais escutar esta música.

I can’t stand to be inside anymore. I want to go out!

Não suporto mais ficar dentro de casa. Quero sair!

4.    Não conseguir mais…

I can’t stand to not work out. I need to go to the gym.

(BR) Não consigo mais, ficar sem malhar. Preciso de ir na academia.

(PT) Não consigo mais, ficar sem fazer exercício. Preciso de ir no ginásio.

I couldn’t stand to finish the cake. It’s really sweet.

Não consegui mais comer o bolo. É muito doce.
